Cornelious Jones has been sentenced to 18 years for first-degree robbery.
Defendant ordered a meatball sub. When he was asked to pay, he announced a robbery by saying “Sir, this is an attempted robbery. Give me all of the money in the register. I am not trying to hurt anyone.” At the same time, defendant had his hand concealed in his left sweatshirt pocket and victim S.A. described that he thought that defendant had a weapon in his pocket. Defendant took approximately $265 and the sandwich from the store and left. When he was arrested a short time later, a meatball sub and currency was found in his car.
Today, St. Louis Circuit Court Judge Elizabeth B. Hogan imposed the sentence.
