Yolonda Washington has been found guilty of second-degree assault and armed criminal action.
The victim sold Yolonda Washington a car. On Oct. 28, 2011, several months after the sale, the victim saw Washington at a gas station in the North Riverfront neighborhood and talked to her about trying to get the car back. The victim followed Washington to the car and said she couldn’t leave with it. Washington drove off at a high rate of speed while the victim was hanging onto the car door, dragging the victim out into the road. The victim fell away from the car. When he stood up in the traffic lane, the defendant made a U-turn and drove back toward the victim, hitting him with her car.
A St. Louis jury convicted Washington on Jan. 16. Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 14 before St. Louis Circuit Court Judge Steven Ohmer.
Congratulations to ACA Coleman and team!
