Repeat offender found guilty of carrying weapon illegally

A repeat offender has been found guilty of being a felon in possession of a gun.


In September of 2013, Joseph Jackson was caught trying to hide a weapon in a car located in the 1200 block of N. Leonard.


Jackson had previously been convicted on multiple other crimes including assault, robbery, stealing and unlawful use of a weapon.


This week, Assistant Circuit Attorney Brenna Kantrovitz presented the case and Wednesday, a jury found him guilty again. Thursday, a judge revoked his probation and sentenced him to seven years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.


Jackson will be sentenced on the latest conviction August 8th. He could face an additional 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
