Man charged for murder in 5000 block of Queens Avenue
April 03, 2015

Language from Probable Cause Statement: On April 2, 2015, C.W. was at home at 50XX Queens with his uncle, B.W., and two other men.  There was a knock at the door, and B.W. looked out the door. He did not recognize the Defendant, who was on the front porch.  C.W. went to the door and opened it.  The Defendant then pulled C.W. away from the door and down the front steps of the porch, as witnessed by a neighbor who was across the street.  There was a short struggle, and then the Defendant shot C.W. in the abdomen, arm, and leg.  B.W. heard the shots, grabbed a gun and ran outside.  B.W. saw the Defendant running away with a gun in his hand and shot him one time.  The Defendant is currently in the hospital.  C.W. died as a result of his gunshot wounds.

*Charges are only accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until the defendant is either found guilty or has pleaded guilty.
