Man charged with murder in 3800 block of Sullivan
June 17, 2015

Language from the Probable Cause Statement:

The defendant, victim T.P., and witness A.D., were sitting in a bedroom at 38XX Sullivan Avenue.  Victim T.P. told A.D., his girlfriend, to remove his shoes.  Immediately after, the defendant fired two bullets into the back of victim T.P.’s head. The victim was pronounced dead on scene.

A.D. attempted to flee the scene and fell down the stairs. The defendant grabbed her and pushed a gun into her side while guiding her through the city streets. He kept her at gunpoint for several blocks until she observed police officers that had responded to a traffic accident. The defendant fled and A.D. informed the officers of what had happened.

A.D. identified the defendant in a photograph spread. Officers arrested the defendant on June 16, 2015, and he had in his possession a .380 Davis Industries, semi-automatic pistol, that had scratch marks over the serial numbers. I learned that the defendant is a convicted felon. The defendant admitted in an audio statement that he shot the defendant.

*Charges are only accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until the defendant is either found guilty or has pleaded guilty.
