ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A jury found Joshua Bolden, 38, guilty on Wednesday of opening fire on two Normandy police officers in 2020.

The Circuit Attorney’s Office said Bolden opened fire with an AR-15-style rifle on April 9, 2020, during what was an attempted traffic stop. A 46-year-old Normandy Police Department sergeant and a 56-year-old officer attempted to stop the vehicle after receiving a description of a vehicle wanted in connection to a shooting in Maryland Heights. Although the officers activated their lights and sirens, the driver fled for miles until exiting and stopping near the 1400 block of Adelaide Avenue.

After the vehicle stopped, Bolden got out of the passenger side of the vehicle and opened fire. The gunfire damaged the patrol vehicle and shattered its windshield, and the sergeant was cut on his face by flying glass. Bolden was arrested after hiding near the scene, and he still had the weapon with him.
