First Alert Forward: St. Louis Prosecutors Partner With City Neighborhoods to Rebuild Trust, Fight Crime
April 6, 2026

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office is launching a program that puts prosecutors directly into neighborhoods with the goal of building trust, supporting victims and witnesses, and strengthening public safety.

Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore told First Alert Forward that after two years focused on staffing up his office and working through an inherited backlog of criminal cases, his team is now expanding its work outside the courthouse through a new initiative: The Circuit Attorney’s Neighborhood Collaboration.

The program is underway in Dutchtown and Mount Pleasant, on the city’s southeast side. Academy, Sherman Park and Ellendale are also joining. Gore also has Shaw on board, where his office and residents are testing whether closer relationships can lead to safer streets.
