Fox 2 News – The first of three people accused in a 2025 murder and robbery was sentenced Tuesday after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors.

Jvonta K. Johnson, 25, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, and unlawful possession of a firearm. He was originally charged with first-degree murder and additional counts of armed criminal action. However, the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office waived or reduced the charges in exchange for Johnson's plea.

Deandre Pickens was gunned down on Jan. 15, 2025, near a gas station in the 3500 block of Harper Street, in the city's Fairground neighborhood. Pickens was 22.
