ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis police officer who shot and killed a 17-year-old in June of 2024 will not be charged, the circuit attorney's office announced Friday.

In a news release, Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore said his office reviewed the St. Louis police department's use-of-force investigation into the shooting death of Emeshyon Wilkins and did not find sufficient evidence to prove the officer's use of force was "objectively unreasonable."

The news release said his office was not investigating whether the officer followed department policy or make a determination on any potential civil liability. It said the office reviewed all the materials in the investigative file, including body camera footage, dashcam video, witness statements and medical examiner findings.
