Fox 2 News– A St. Louis man has been sentenced to decades behind bars after the attacks of multiple people over two days at Tower Grove Park last year.

On Thursday, Austin Fitzgerald, 61, pleaded guilty to 13 felony charges in connection with attacks at the park last August. He was also sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Investigators say Fitzgerald threatened people with a pistol, sexually abused one woman, and struck several others with brass knuckles.

On Aug. 1, 2025, prosecutors say Fitzgerald approached two women from behind with a gun, ordered one woman into his car, and sexually abused her while keeping a gun in his lap. The woman eventually escaped and ran into someone else’s car for help.
