KSDK– A St. Louis man was sentenced Monday for shooting and killing another man in St. Louis' Mount Pleasant neighborhood. 

James Rogers, 29, was sentenced to 19 years in prison as part of a plea deal in the fatal shooting death of 31-year-old Michael Wiott. 

The incident happened in the 4300 block of California Avenue on Aug. 15, 2022.

Charging documents said witnesses told police Wiott had arranged a meeting with Rogers about the sale of a tablet. Surveillance video from a gas station nearby showed a car pull up and Wiott get inside. He then was seen running from the car, followed by Rogers, who fired several shots at him before returning to the car and leaving the scene, charges said.
