Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Fatal Shooting in Holly Hills
July 8, 2026

ST. LOUIS, MO  (July 8, 2026) — Anthony Hill, 50, was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Wednesday after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action in the January 2024 shooting death of 39-year-old Rion Robinson in the City's Holly Hills neighborhood.

On January 18, 2024, Robinson was shot multiple times in the 5200 block of South Grand Boulevard and died from his injuries. Investigators determined that earlier that day, in an interaction captured on surveillance video, Hill and co-Defendant Tyrell Henley, 41, went to a nearby business looking for Robinson to resolve a dispute. Later, co-defendant Calvin Anderson, 50, contacted Hill, who lived nearby, to alert him that Robinson had returned. Surveillance footage then showed co-defendants Hill and Henley confronting and assaulting Robinson outside a neighboring storefront while co-defendant Anderson filmed the assault.

During the assault, Hill suddenly pulled out a firearm and shot Robinson multiple times. Surveillance footage captured Hill fleeing the scene on foot. Hill was wearing the same clothing he was observed wearing earlier in the day on surveillance video. Investigators recovered spent .22-caliber shell casings on the scene and later recovered .22-caliber ammunition from Hill’s home, as well as a distinctive hat matching the one Hill wore in the surveillance video.

"The willingness to use violence to resolve personal disputes continues to drive far too much of the serious crime we see. No disagreement or personal conflict justifies taking a human life,” said Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore. “Every life lost to violence is a reminder that the choices made in a matter of seconds result in consequences that last for generations."

Hill has a prior felony conviction for possession of a controlled substance from February 2020. Co-Defendants Tyrell Henley and Calvin Anderson were sentenced to 10 years in prison for their participation in the death of Mr. Robinson.

Assistant Circuit Attorneys Nicholas Hirst and Allan Kaiser prosecuted the case.

The defendant's case number is 2422-CR00373-01.
