Crime Data Strategies Unit Supervisor

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Data Strategies Unit Supervisor.

We are a fast-paced office devoted to a culture of excellence interested in someone with 5 or more years of experience with data analysis, investigation, and supervision.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced data supervisor seeking to support diversion efforts and public safety in the St. Louis community.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a minimum of a Juris Doctor degree.
    Experience in criminal investigations, including digital data communication
    Knowledge of current practices in data reporting, including data mapping and geocoding, is preferred
  • Must possess a strong understanding of social media platforms, privacy settings, digital forensics tools and methodologies, and digital communication protocols.
  • Experience with PBK, Rejis, and Crime Matrix preferred.


Duties

This position will support the development, implementation, and evaluation of intelligence-driven prosecution strategies and diversion programming.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Oversight and supervision of team members
  • Identify available and suitable data sources to support organizational objectives
  • Supervise gathering and analysis of data using in-house and other organizational sources
  • Work with the executive team to identify organizational data needs
  • Develop office-wide best practices for data entry and collection
  • Evaluate public safety strategies
  • Work with other Unit Supervisors to identify data needs and/or evaluate programming or policies
  • Present findings to law enforcement agencies and other relevant stakeholders
  • Identify and develop partnerships with other public safety agencies
  • Develop and maintain data dashboard for CAO website
  • Oversee in-depth digital investigations
  • Direct the analysis of patterns and trends connecting online activities with criminal behavior 
  • Work with executive leadership to coordinate the dissemination of data 
  • Perform other duties as assigned
