Jury Finds Defendant Guilty in Carjacking and Robbery
April 8, 2026

ST. LOUIS, MO  (April 8, 2026) — A St. Louis jury found Anthony Arch, 41, guilty on Wednesday of two counts of first-degree robbery, vehicle hijacking, first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, and tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution.

On July 18, 2025, two 20-year-old women exited a convenience store in the 4200 block of Lindell in the City’s Central West End neighborhood and approached a parked Nissan Altima. Arch ran up to the vehicle and used his body to block the driver’s door from closing. He indicated he had a weapon and ordered the women to place their belongings on the floor of the vehicle. He then forced both women out of the car, ordered them to lie face down on the ground, and drove away.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's Real Time Crime Center and Mobile Air Support quickly located and tracked the stolen vehicle and directed officers to Arch’s location. Officers arrested Arch within 45 minutes of the carjacking. They recovered the victims’ belongings, including a wallet, keys, both women’s cell phones, and Apple Watches. Both women identified Arch as the person who committed the robbery.

“This case reflects intentional and dangerous conduct that put two innocent young women at risk,” said Gabe Gore. “We will continue to seek accountability for actions like this and ensure that those who commit violent offenses face the consequences.”

Arch has prior convictions for first-degree robbery and unlawful use of a weapon. He faces up to life in prison with the possibility of parole. Sentencing is scheduled for June 18, 2026.

Assistant Circuit Attorney Nick Hirst, Violent Crime Unit Deputy Supervisor Grant Simon, and Assistant Circuit Attorney Dominic Cusumano prosecuted the case.

The defendant’s case number is 2522-CR02193-01.
