ST. LOUIS, MO  (March 6, 2026) — Antwaune Darrell Williams, 44, was sentenced Friday to 12 years in prison after being convicted by a jury of first-degree rape and second-degree domestic assault on January 30, 2026.

In the early morning hours of December 6, 2023, Williams forcibly sexually assaulted and physically injured a 56-year-old woman inside his apartment in the 1200 block of North 15th Street in the City’s Carr Square neighborhood.

Williams restrained the victim and prevented her from leaving the apartment for several hours. The victim eventually escaped, ran to a nearby construction worker, and used his phone to call 911 before seeking medical treatment. Medical personnel at SLU Hospital conducted a sexual assault examination and documented injuries consistent with physical assault.

“Violence like this leaves a lasting impact on victims and their families. Holding offenders accountable is essential, not just for the survivor in this case, but for building a sense of safety in the entire community,” said Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore. “Today’s sentence reflects the devastating impact that these crimes had on the victim.”

Williams has a prior felony conviction for first-degree arson.

Chief Trial Attorney Jeremy Crowley and Assistant Circuit Attorney Aradhana Polley prosecuted the case.

The defendant’s case number is 2322-CR03082-01.
