Jury Finds Man Guilty of Second-degree Murder in St. Louis Homecoming Party Shooting

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A jury found a man guilty of second-degree murder and several other charges in a 2023 shooting at a high school homecoming party near Gravois Park.


Along with the murder charge, the jury found Azavian Royal, 21, guilty of first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree assault and four counts of armed criminal action for a shooting that killed a teenager, according to the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office.


The verdict comes after another man involved in the shooting, Orlando Bernard, 20, pleaded guilty on April 17 to second-degree murder and received a 19-year prison sentence.
