Man Convicted of Murder in 2023 Homecoming Party Shooting

ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man was found guilty of second-degree murder and other charges in connection with a homecoming party shooting that left one teenager dead and two others injured.


On Thursday, a jury found 21-year-old Azavian Royal guilty of second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, second-degree assault and four counts of armed criminal action for his role in the Oct. 8, 2023, shooting that left 17-year-old Iarvera Hale dead.
