Carondelet Man Sentenced to 22 Years for Shooting Girlfriend and Domestic Assault
August 1, 2025

ST. LOUIS, MO  (August 1, 2025) — Joseph Fuller, 60, was sentenced to 22 years on Friday after being found guilty by a jury on April 23, 2025, of first-degree domestic assault with serious physical injury, armed criminal action, and third-degree domestic assault related to a violent incident that occurred overnight between December 30 and the early morning of December 31, 2023, at an apartment in the 7800 block of Rio Silva Place in the City’s Carondelet neighborhood.

Fuller had been in a two-year relationship with the 37-year-old victim when, during an argument, he punched her in the face and threatened to shoot her. Later that night, she was shot in the chest. Ballistic evidence inside the apartment, including damage to a closet, corroborated her account.

“Today’s sentence sends a strong message that domestic violence will be aggressively prosecuted,” said St. Louis Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore. “We will continue to support survivors and work to ensure that perpetrators like the defendant face the consequences of their actions.”

Fuller has prior convictions in Madison County, Illinois, for aggravated fleeing, forgery, and possession of controlled substances.

Assistant Circuit Attorney Rondalyn McDonald-Harris and Special Victims Unit Supervisor Jeremy Crowley prosecuted the case.

Fuller’s case number is 2422-CR00040-01.
