Getaway Driver Sentenced to 15 Years for Broad Daylight Armed Robbery
July 7, 2025

ST. LOUIS, MO (July 7, 2025) — A 23-year-old man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in a daylight armed robbery that was captured on surveillance and doorbell video in North St. Louis.

Alford Davis was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty Thursday to first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. He received 12 years for the robbery and 3 years for armed criminal action, to be served consecutively.

The robbery occurred on March 5, 2024, after Davis approached the victim inside a BP gas station on the 5000 block of West Florissant in the city’s O’Fallon neighborhood and asked if he wanted to buy marijuana. The victim declined and left on foot. Minutes later, Davis drove a black Pontiac around the block, stopped beside the victim, and allowed two armed accomplices to jump out and rob him at gunpoint. The entire incident was captured on video from the gas station and a nearby Ring doorbell camera. Following his arrest, Davis confessed to coordinating the robbery

“Driving two armed gunmen to rob someone in broad daylight is a serious type of crime that undermines our community’s sense of security, and this conviction ensures accountability,” said Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore. “We will continue to aggressively prosecute violent crime to enhance public safety in every St. Louis neighborhood.”

Davis has two prior burglary convictions from 2018 and was on probation at the time of the offense.

Assistant Circuit Attorneys Grant Simon and Aradhana Polley prosecuted the case.
