Gravois Park Man Sentenced to Three Life Terms for Deadly Drive-By Shooting
June 26, 2025

ST. LOUIS, MO (June 26, 2025) — Arthur Richardson, 36, was sentenced Thursday to three consecutive life sentences plus 35 years for a deadly 2023 drive-by shooting that killed his neighbor and endangered another man in the city’s Gravois Park neighborhood.

A St. Louis jury found Richardson guilty on April 30, 2025, of first-degree murder, first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and three counts of armed criminal action.

The charges stem from an August 26, 2023, shooting in which Richardson fired multiple rounds from the street, fatally striking 23-year-old Anthony Kent in the head as he stood on his front porch. A second victim, Nabiel Kassis, was nearby but escaped injury. Surveillance video and ballistic evidence confirmed all shots were fired from the street, with no return fire.

At sentencing, the court imposed life without parole for first-degree murder, life for first-degree assault, and life for unlawful use of a weapon for shooting from a vehicle at a person or building. He also received 15 years for armed criminal action related to the murder, 10 years for armed criminal action related to the assault, and another 10 years for armed criminal action tied to the unlawful use of a weapon. All sentences will run consecutively.

“This was a targeted act of violence that cost a young man his life and put others at risk,” said Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore. “Today’s sentence ensures the defendant will never again threaten our neighborhoods.”

Assistant Circuit Attorneys Chris Faerber and Ryan Dowd prosecuted the case.

Richardson’s case number is 2322-CR02211-01.
