Jury Convicts Man of Sexually Assaulting Two Girls And Deems Him a Predatory Sex Offender
May 14, 2025

ST. LOUIS, MO MO (May 14, 2025) — Terry Garey, 43, was found guilty by a jury on Wednesday of three counts of first-degree statutory sodomy, a count of first-degree attempted statutory sodomy, and a count of first-degree child molestation for crimes he committed against two young girls he knew in the City’s Carondelet and Baden neighborhoods.

The charges involved Garey forcing the two young girls, who were 5 and 7 at the time of the abuse, to perform sexual acts on him. He also inappropriately touched one of the victims.

The jury classified Garey as a predatory sexual offender, a designation that carries a mandatory life sentence. His sentencing is scheduled for June 27, 2025.

Assistant Circuit Attorneys Rondalyn McDonald-Harris and Carolyn Chkautovich prosecuted the case.

“This was a betrayal of trust. Children deserve safety and protection, and this defendant took that from them. Our office is committed to ensuring that those who commit such horrific acts are held fully accountable under the law,” said St. Louis Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore.

Garey’s case number is 2322-CR02613.
