Jury Convicts St. Louis Man in Fatal Drive-By Shooting of Neighbor
April 30, 2025

ST. LOUIS, MO (April 30, 2025) — Arthur Richardson, 36, was found guilty by a jury on Wednesday in the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Anthony Kent and endangering Nabiel Kassis outside a residence in the city’s Gravois Park neighborhood.

The evidence showed that Richardson and Mr. Kent were neighbors, and Richardson had previously shot at Mr. Kent two nights before.

The morning of August 26, 2023, the defendant returned and fired multiple rounds from the street, striking Mr. Kent fatally in the head as he stood on his porch. A second victim, Nabiel Kassis escaped unharmed. Shell casings and surveillance footage confirmed all gunfire came from the street, with no evidence of return fire.

At the trial, Richardson waived his right to a public defender and represented himself. Richardson was found guilty of first-degree murder, first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and multiple counts of armed criminal action. The jury recommended life in prison without parole on Richardson’s first-degree murder conviction. On the other five counts, the jury recommended he be sentenced to 35 years. Richardson’s sentencing is scheduled for June 26, 2025.

Assistant Circuit Attorneys Chris Faerber and Ryan Dowd prosecuted the case.

“This was a cold and calculated murder,” said Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore. “The defendant returned to that home with the clear intent to kill, opening fire in broad daylight on a quiet residential street. This case is a stark example of how personal disputes can lead to escalating violence. In this case, a dispute between neighbors has unnecessarily led to tragic consequences for all involved.”

Richardson’s case number is 2322-CR02211-01.
