Jury Finds Man Guilty of Rape and Domestic Assault
January 30, 2026

ST. LOUIS, MO  (January 30, 2026) — A jury convicted Antwaune Darrell Williams, 44, of first-degree rape and second-degree domestic assault on Friday.

In the early morning hours of December 6, 2023, Williams forcibly sexually assaulted and physically injured a 56-year-old woman inside his apartment in the 1200 block of North 15th Street in the City's Carr Square neighborhood.

Williams restrained the victim and prevented her from leaving the apartment for several hours. The victim eventually escaped, ran to a nearby construction worker, and used his phone to call 911 before seeking medical treatment. Medical personnel at SLU Hospital conducted a sexual assault examination and documented injuries consistent with physical assault.

"This defendant trapped and sexually assaulted a woman, leaving her injured and fearing for her life. He is now being held accountable for the trauma and injuries he inflicted," said Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore.

Williams has a prior felony conviction for first-degree arson. He faces a potential sentence of up to 30 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for March 6, 2026.

Chief Trial Attorney Jeremy Crowley and Assistant Circuit Attorney Aradhana Polley prosecuted the case.

The defendant's case number is 2322-CR03082-01.
