Man Pleads Guilty to Murdering Ex-Girlfriend
November 6, 2024

ST. LOUIS, MO (November 5, 2024) — Brandon Desean Terrell-Warren, 27, pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree murder in the shooting death of his former girlfriend, Diamond Kennell 21, in the 2800 block of Itaska in the City’s Mount Pleasant neighborhood on September 24, 2022. He was sentenced Tuesday to serve 17 years for murder plus three years for armed criminal action to run consecutively.

Kennell had been dating Terrell-Warren for several years and had decided to end their relationship. In the early hours of September 24, 2022, Kennell was seated in a vehicle with a friend when Terrell-Warren ran up to the driver’s side of the car, opened the door and began to punch and choke her friend. Terrell-Warren then used a firearm and shot Kennel once in the chest and twice in the head.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant Circuit Attorneys Kerri Davis and Grant Simon.

“This callous killing, fueled by jealousy, has devastated the family of this young woman,” said Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore. “It is our hope that they find some relief knowing that her murderer will face the consequences of his actions.”

Terrell-Warren’s case number in Missouri Case.net is 2422-CR01971.
