Victim’s Body Found in Vacant Lot

ST. LOUIS, MO (October 4, 2024) — Antonio Cartez Mosley, 27, pleaded guilty Thursday to voluntary manslaughter in the beating death of Michael L. Finocchiaro, 62, on April 21, 2023, in the 1700 block of Cass Avenue in the city’s Columbus Square neighborhood. Mosley will serve 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

The two men had met on a dating app and arranged to meet at Mosley’s apartment. They got into an argument during which Finocchiaro was killed, suffering several blunt force trauma injuries to his head.

On April 24, 2023, police received a call about a body wrapped in garbage bags sealed with duct tape in a vacant lot at 10th Street and Cass Avenue. Finocchiaro was identified as the victim through fingerprints. Police found surveillance video showing Mosley loading what appeared to be a body into the trunk of his car. Mosley’s vehicle also was identified on police surveillance video, parked for five minutes in the exact location where the Finocchiaro’s body was found. Detectives found blood in the trunk of Mosley's car trunk and on items in his apartment, including a baseball bat and a 40-pound dumbbell.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant Circuit Attorneys Kerri Davis and Jessica Vestal.

Mosley’s case number is 2322-CR00862-01.
