Predatory Sex Offender Sentenced to Four Life Terms for Sexually Assaulting Two Young Girls
June 27, 2025

ST. LOUIS, MO (June 27, 2025) — Terry Garey, 43, was sentenced Friday to four consecutive life sentences plus 15 years for sexually assaulting two young girls in St. Louis. A jury convicted Garey in May of three counts of first-degree statutory sodomy, one count of attempted statutory sodomy, and one count of first-degree child molestation.

The crimes occurred in the City’s Carondelet and Baden neighborhoods, where Garey forced two young girls, who were 5 and 7 at the time of the abuse, to perform sexual acts on him. He also inappropriately touched one of the victims.

Garey received life in prison for each of the three counts of first-degree statutory sodomy, life in prison for the count of attempted statutory sodomy, and 15 years for the child molestation charge. All sentences were ordered to run consecutively.

“Garey targeted the most innocent members of our community and committed acts that are beyond reprehensible,” said Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore. “Today’s sentence sends a clear message: if you prey on children, you will spend the rest of your life behind bars.”

Assistant Circuit Attorneys Rondalyn McDonald-Harris and Carolyn Chkautovich prosecuted the case.

Garey’s case number is 2322-CR02613.
