Woman Pleads Guilty to Randomly Shooting into Crowd, Killing Bystander
January 23, 2025

ST. LOUIS, MO (January 17, 2025) — Tiffany Lawanda Richardson, 27, pleaded guilty this week to involuntary manslaughter for the fatal shooting of George Robins, 53, on July 20, 2023, in the 1300 block of Shawmut Place in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood. Richardson will serve 10 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

Richardson was in a car at a family wake on Shawmut when a fight broke out in a crowd of people in the street. Someone threw a child’s scooter at the car she was in, shattering its rear window. As the car drove away, Richardson fired blindly out the rear window into the crowd, striking and killing Robbins. After the shooting, Richardson drove to St. Louis Metropolitan Police headquarters on Olive Street and turned herself in.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant Circuit Attorney Adam Field.

“An innocent bystander was killed by indiscriminate gunfire into a group of people mourning a family member,” said Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore. “Now two families are mourning a lost loved one. Mr. Robins’ death is a tragedy that should never have occurred.”

Richardson’s case number is 2422-CR01367-01.
